Roses to Charm You - A Decorated Box

Hello Everyone!

What a glorious autumn day it is here in Truro, Nova Scotia! Our leaves haven't really started to turn colours just yet (with a few exceptions), it's sunny, and warm, with a lovely breeze. Plus our roses are gifting us with their last blooms of the season.

Today I want to share another Graphic 45 Paper project with  you. This started as a box from the Dollar Store in town - you know, made with plain chipboard, and unpainted. But I could imagine it with my favourite patterned sheet from "An Eerie Tale" paper collection called "Enchantment". I cannot resist roses!

First I removed all the hardware from the box and painted the entire box with black craft paint. Then I measured and cut panels of paper for the outside of the box using the "Enchantment" sheet, then for the inside of the box using the "Grand Illusion" sheet (the striped side).

Finally I went over the entire box with Mod Podge to give it a gloss and an antique look.

I was going to add flowers and embellishments to the top, but the more I looked at it the more I thought the paper itself was all the embellishment that it needed.

Here is the inside:

I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, and my husband can't believe it's the same box!

"An Eerie Tale" Collection is technically a Halloween/Fairy Tale inspired collection, but some of the papers can be used year round.

Thanks for visiting - hope you'll come back again...

Graphic 45 Fall Decor

Hi Everyone!

This is my first creation made with Graphic 45 paper. It's a frame using "An Eerie Tale" collection. I love Graphic 45 paper because each collection tells a story, or several. This one is about Fairy Tales - Hansel and Gretel, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, all set in an autumn and Halloween theme.

I didn't want to concentrate on the Halloween aspect with this project so I used fussy cut images from Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and a cut out featuring Beauty.  The main image is of fall harvest and late roses with the sentiment Magical - which is how I feel about the artwork!

The paper collection has definitely Bewitched me.

I will be using more Graphic 45 papers, along with Heartfelt Creations stamps, dies, and papers, as well as Stampin' Up!, and others I'm sure. Along with the occasional garden, home decor, and goodness knows what else photos and posts, but they will all be focused on a vintage style.

Thanks for stopping by!
